Users can snap a fun photo in front of virtual Norwegian backdrops, add a personal note, and send it off. All in just a few minutes.

What do you do when your competitors offer something you don’t? VoetbalCourt.nl needed a way to outshine the competition, whose visual tools were functional but plain. They needed a solution that lets clients visualize their football courts in the actual location they are going to be placed. That’s why we developed an innovative web configurator with an integrated AR feature, giving clients an easy and intuitive way to design and preview their courts.

Have you ever walked into a store, felt overwhelmed by too many choices, and left without buying anything? Johnnie Walker faced this challenge in their airport stores and approached us to create an innovative campaign to help overcome it. They wanted to guide shoppers by taking them on a journey of discovering their perfect Johnnie Walker flavour through a fun and easy-to-use interactive experience.

Shuffleboard is a centuries-old game that’s still enjoyed by students at the pub or elderly in retirement homes alike. One of the most unique locations it’s commonly played is on the waxed decks of cruise ships and luxury yachts. Sadly, playing shuffleboard on the deck of an airplane hasn’t caught on yet. Oreo agreed on this sentiment and tasked us to build a shuffleboard inspired experience for their airport store-in-stores. During the game, travelers compete to get the highest score by swiping Oreos towards a glass of milk.

Loot – 10 stories

The Mauritshuis “Roofkunst – 10 verhalen” exhibition tells the story of 10 looted artworks that are on display during the exhibition. We highlighted three of these stories through VR.

• The Quadriga on top of the Brandenburger Tor, looted by Napoleon.
• An Indonesian Kris dagger, looted by the Dutch army during the colonial wars.
• The last self-portrait made by Rembrandt van Rijn in 1669, looted by the Nazis for Adolf Hitlers Personal Führermuseum.

The project was a unique collaboration of the classical art museum Het Mauritshuis, film studio Jongsma+O’Neil, and us. Due to this interdisciplinary team, we got to tell a unique story in an engaging way.

Bowmore and Aston Martin have something special in common: a pursuit for perfect balance. For this reason, they collaborated on releasing three perfectly balanced whiskies. To promote these whiskies they wanted a unique buying experience focused on balance and symmetry using the fascinating phenomena called cymatics. We were asked to co-design and develop the experience to faithfully simulate the real-life phenomenon. During the experience, users answer three questions about themselves, allowing them to create the shape, color, and speed of their own emotive pulse. The user is then recommended a limited edition whisky based on their very own personality. Are you ready to immerse yourself in a captivating blend of visuals and sounds?

Gamification, the use of gaming elements such as progression bars, leaderboards and badges in marketing activations enables customers to engage with brands in a fun and memorable way. For this project, we were tasked with making a treasure hunt game for Dewar’s Double Double 36 premium whisky release.

Painting your house or repaving your driveway can be a daunting task. Choosing the right color, finish, and materials can be overwhelming, and it can be challenging to compare different options. While stores offer swatches for painting, it’s not as easy for repaving driveways. That’s why BM Vallá approached us to design and develop an online tool that allows potential clients to try out different pavement options for their driveways.

Airports can be a very fun place for the first hour. But sadly it’s rare to be waiting for ‘just’ an hour. However, Toblerone Discover provides a way to make the wait a little more bearable. Located in airports worldwide, the experience offers users an entertaining way to explore the city where it is situated while killing time. Users engage in a game on a large screen and use a Toblerone bar, which is tracked onto their hands, to capture letters spelling “Toblerone” and a set of illustrations related to the city while avoiding unrelated ones. The experience includes a leaderboard to encourage users to compete with one another, resulting in word-of-mouth advertising.

It is always fun when we get asked to create something special for a brand like Diageo. This was the second time we could put our 3D skills to the test for them. For their “Special Releases” range, Diageo transports the user to a fantastical world where they can explore the story and habitats of the “legendary creatures”.

For Adidas Giants, a campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2022, we made a series of augmented reality web applications that project multiple star players around famous landmarks in Qatar and Dubai. The applications can be opened by scanning a QR code in a tv ad, on the packaging for the official ball or in certain locations around Qatar and Dubai.

For Toblerone we created a great digital activation, for consumers at airports and train stations, where they scan an on-pack QR code with their device and are directed to the web app for the Tiny Words campaign. On the homepage, examples of several animations and effect outcomes are shown so that the user is triggered to start creating their own shareable, virtual tiny messages image out of the 21 different words.

With Johnnie Walker Blue Label “Cities of the Future”, the brand is reflecting on its own 200-year journey to this point, and gazing ahead to the next 200 years by launching a collection that reimagines how a selection of the worlds’ leading cities will look two centuries in the future. There are 10 unique cityscapes created in collaboration with London-based digital artist and creative powerhouse Luke Halls. We were tasked to develop an interactive web experience that connects all these locations through a digital hyperloop.

For its Black Label series, Johnnie Walker has released six limited edition bottles, created using an ink made from air pollution. The Keep Walking City collection was made in partnership with Air-Ink, a brand that creates ink by condensing carbon-based gaseous effluents generated by air pollution. Diageo invited us to create the spinning bottle component in the JW Air Ink project.

Our partner Circle Square asked us to create an activation for Mondelez and their Cadbury brand. The brief was to “create a Cadbury area where travelers feel engaged with both Cadbury history and heritage delivered through a London-related look and feel to include.”

We participated in this amazing project for the new Sony earbuds; the Sony LinkBuds. This was not just any campaign, but rather a “Metaverse” for users to buy the Sony LinkBuds, gain access to all the digital Verses, and learn about the product’s unique features.

Our UK partner Big Bad Wolf asked us to develop the consumer engagement piece that would be adopted into Dewar’s Double Agent 16 YO portfolio of work. We were responsible for the technical development of this mobile web experience, and concept & design was done by our partner. The game is meant as a simple entry point to a deeper exploration of the Dewar’s brand and their different vintages and flavours.

Apollo’s Vertical Conveyor Belt systems (VCB) are large factory-sized installations of up to 10 meters high. Prior to the COVID pandemic, Apollo used to travel with at least 1 installation and supporting sales collateral to tradeshows on every continent, which was highly inefficient. Our solution allows Apollo to demonstrate four of their flagship VCB’s in great detail through an iPad app and a microsite.

Through a partnering agency, Coca-Cola asked us to help create a web application designed to allow users to share a Christmas invitation or special message with friends and family. On scanning a QR code, or visiting a URL users will arrive at a landing page that asks them to record a message: a dinner invitation, a greeting or even a Christmas song. The voice input will be turned into a Christmas tree design generated by the unique soundwave of the user.

The UK hosted the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021. The summit aims to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the goal is to join forces with civil society, companies and people on the front line of climate change to inspire climate action ahead of COP26.

Sky Glass is the streaming TV from Sky, which was launched in October 2021. The TV device has Sky built into the hardware; so users can stream every channel, show and app over WiFi, so no more satellite dish or media box. Through its partner Surround Vision, we helped create a WebAR experience for the launch, which shows the device through your phone, right inside your own house.

More than 75 years after World War II, a memorial dedicated to the over 102,000 Dutch victims of the Holocaust without a grave will finally be unveiled in the Netherlands. Designed by the Polish-American architect Daniël Libeskind, the memorial is located on Weesperstraat in Amsterdam. We had the privilege to help work on a location-based tool for visitors to find the names of people they are looking for, through an interactive search tool, initiated by a QR code, showing a walking path through the memorial to the correct wall where the named brick is situated.

For the 78th annual Venice International Film Festival, we designed and implemented the application used to showcase 360° films and video submissions to the public. The app not only featured the films but also provided background information about the filmmakers and filming locations. With our help, eight films were presented, alongside a total of thirty-seven projects: eight 360° videos, twenty-five VR projects, and four VR experiences available by reservation, representing twenty-three countries.

Our partnering agency asked us to help create a WebXR element for the Polaroid sunglasses brand. On brightenyourcolors.com or a partner-retailer’s website, users are asked to “take the GIF challenge” and choose 3 models, which they can subsequently try on using a virtual try-on experience in webAR. Each try-on is snapped as a picture and after 3 try-ons, a GIF is generated, together with a discount code which the users can use on the website or in-store.

Airports offer an ideal setting for some leisurely downtime. You can catch up on that guilty pleasure TV show everyone’s talking about or simply observe fellow passengers hurrying towards their departure gates. However, there are moments when you might crave a break from this idle state. It’s precisely during these moments that your brand should connect with your customers through a fun and engaging experience. This was our goal with the KitKat bus. We were entrusted with the task of developing the photo-sharing application that lies at the core of this activation.

Through a partner agency, Nike’s Jordan brand wanted to showcase the Jordan Boomerang Dunk Experience in their flagship store in Paris. Via an interactive camera a visitor’s dunk or layup was photobursted and turned into a selfie GIF to share on social media.

The Johnnie Walker Madrid flagship store welcomes both whisky enthusiasts and newcomers with immersive experiences such as tastings and masterclasses. At the front, a feature wall displays the core Johnnie Walker range, organized by label and flavour profile. At its centre, our interactive “Explore our Whiskies” screen guides visitors on a virtual journey through Scotland’s distilleries, showcasing the single malts and grains that make up each blend.

The Johnnie Walker Madrid flagship store welcomes both whisky lovers and newcomers with immersive experiences like tastings and masterclasses. At the entrance, a “Perfect Serve” interactive screen matches visitors’ interests to a tailored whisky cocktail, which they can co-create at the bar. This interactive, gamified experience offers an engaging introduction to Johnnie Walker and the wider world of whisky.

We were asked by ŠKODA to develop a virtual reality (VR) experience for their first electric concept car, the VISION E. The goal was to use innovative techniques that push the boundaries of what’s possible. To reach this goal we aimed for an interactive and informative experience of the VISION E’s features and concept. The resulting experience was split into two phases: a mobile at-home teaser phase for influencers and an event experience for the public using the HTC Vive VR headset.
